ALS is something that is happening more and more everyday so to see everyone doing this ALS challenge warms my heart. If you would of asked me almost five years ago if I knew what ALS was I would have looked at you puzzled. But then my grandpa was diagnosed with it. I suddenly knew about a disease I never wanted to hear about. Basically motor neurons begin failing and it slowly begins paralyzing you. You lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, and breathe. It usually gives you 2-5 years to live after being diagnosed.

Tonight some students At Emporia State University did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. I made a point to hug everyone that did it if I knew them or not. ALS has personally been involved in my family's life. So to see people spreading the word about it made me feel so much appreciation. But for random people on my campus to hug me again after I told them how it has involved my family just makes me realize how wonderful Emporia State and it's people really are. #ALSFOUNDATION #ICEBUCKETCHALLENGE#EMPORIASTATEUNIVERSITY #STINGERSUP
